The Monte Bré region offers many itineraries that differ in beauty and difficulty, both for hikers and mountain bikers. The centre of Lugano can be reached in only 10 to 15 minutes by car, but it is also possible to reach the Castagnola district by taking the funicular railway. The Parco Ciani and the Lido di Lugano, with its indoor swimming pool, summer outdoor pool, lakeside beach and tennis courts, are a 10-minute drive away. The picturesque village of Gandria can be reached in 6 minutes by car, or on foot from Castagnola (5 minutes by car) along the beautiful 'Sentiero degli Ulivi'.
